Collection of Material
In this category you will find more information on the MLW references, its material base consisting of more than one million slips as well as a comprehensive library of primary and secondary literature. You will also find access to the reference list where the texts are listed the MLW is based on.
You may also download the changed citation methods: In one single document, we compiled all editions for you that have been newly published since the release of the second printing of the reference index in 1991. It explains the structure of the reference list as well.
The photo on the right is depicting a page from the so-called Sankt Gallen Cantatorium, including the world’s probably oldest complete neumes notations.
The MLW corpus includes a similar oevre from Strasbourg (Cantatorium Argentinense) which –like music theory tracts and other specialist literature– places very special demands on the scientific associates.
